there were multiple fired and is there as well. about two to 300 people were standing out there. between orinda and rock ridge and nothing is moving. they're no trains a movie. obviously, they have crews and both danced because they have to decide how they're want to remove this train. you can see dozens of people are out here trying to figure out what is going on. this appears to be the command post and you see several fire officials out here. >> it does not appear that this station is going to open any time soon. they have completely evacuated this area. you concede ambulances are there just to make sure no one is hurt. they want to move these

that they have a lot of oxygen tanks because there are reports the some of these people cannot breathe. we obviously do not know how much smoke was inside of this train. or inside of this, when this took place. unfortunately, they stated it was a break issue the started this train to smoke. they're wearing a lot of fire personnel and in fact i will switchover and you can see some of the personnel that is out here with the ambulance. >> when i was coming here i passed the orinda station and they also have hundreds of people standing outside at this station. then i have a train is moving from that location. we're still waiting to see wind and it is this train--this is of the shot that i am looking

at pripet we have no idea how much longer this train will be sitting here. >> i have been here about 5 minutes and about a dozen fireman when inside. they started to make rescues inside the tunnel perry e. it ls like the firefighters are now starting to come out pripet you can see it a little better. i have no idea of whether or not they're doing this from the other end. you can say how many were inside the this bart train. it appears that they had all types of rescue equipment bread >> most of the firemen have their masks on and they're ready to deploy >> we have to take a quick

>> welcome back. we have more on the breaking story of a bart train that is stuck in the caldecott tunnel. and this is live pictures of the orinda station from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news. >> when we were on a commercial break 2 trains arrived at the entrance to the caldecott tunnel is just right off the screen. both of them came from the same direction. was it one of them that was stuck. we will have it is not clear, but we do know that kron4 is jackie sissel

is mounting a rescue train. just before we went to break we saw the doors open up. i am not sure if jackie is still available. >> have you seen anything develop? >> is still unclear as i stated they unloaded this about 5 to 10 minutes. the doors opened and then the rescue personnel came back off. if someone does not know the train, basically you have the oakland hills between where i met and on the other side then you have the other bart station. this is the caldecott tunnel area where the train is still stuck inside pripet between the two of us, they have rescue personnel on both sides of this tunnel. that

is why you see these rescue people from this shot. >> they're trying to figure out which way they want to go into the tunnel and you can still see the personnel from the fire department later ran around the area. it appears to their starting to walk down towards the exit. this rock ridge a station is closed as we speak. when i receive no affirmation, they're not updating us of what is going on. >> interesting. i know there single tracking. so perhaps one of the other tradetrains wee apart of this. >> that will tell me that this train has to be coming from the tunnel area. this

is not coming from the open side. this is coming from the orinda station. and this is coming east to west. this is the direction that we are hearing were the train was stuck. this is the first trend we have actually save pulled into since this started pripet obviously, we will keep it here to see if we see anyone get off. >> i do has see anyone on the train but obviously, the doors are opening and it will be hard to see the platform. i cannot really see it at this point but this is the first train that i have seen pole in.pull in.

>> i have been monitoring the helicopter shot and i know there was a train standing and that may explain why the personnel had to wait. they were waiting for these tries to push through. it is not just won the tunnel, we have two of them that parallel each other. there is not an easy access spreads. they will e to figure out which point is closest to where the train is stuck and actually, let's take a look. we see a lot of people on the platform and again this is the rock ridge station bread we have a lot of people coming off but one of those trains. the the train, the one that they

were boarding, came off quickly will look for more information coming in. >> where are you on? >> i am at the orinda bart's station. there are about 100 people who were forced to get off the train because of this incident. >> so, did shoot see any train going towards the tunnel or into the tunnel? >> i have, i spoke with the spokesperson from bart's and she told me that the emergency responders are door in an emergency train and they're sending this train to the location of the one that is disabled. she

stated that it was disabled because of the emergency brakes were activated. she stated that it was not a fire but the smoke was caused by the application of the emergency brakes. >> perhaps, that became active in calls saw the smoke. >> there are a lot of people on the platform and we were watching this will solve our personnel stepping on the strength to look 10. perhaps, that is our rescue train. we will have to continue to follow the latest. the time now is 9:37 a.m.. >> we will go to the traffic center to see what impact is having. >> they started 15 minutes,

it went to 20 minutes. bart is a major delays. we're looking at about 30 minutes. they do not have any service on the loss orinorinda train ore rock ridge. this incidence started in the oakland hills tunnel and we have the rock ridge station completely evacuated. there is no service between these two stations. hopefully, this would change. this is major delays for the pittsburgh area. i would not be surprised if this goes to the rest of the system. we will keep updating this. >> we will be right back.

was an emergency brake problem that bart uses. all the passengers are in the rock ridge. some of them had to receive some type of a medical attention and some of them are just stuck there pripet >> one of the passengers just spoke with me about what happened. >> the train and just slammed on its the brakes. we smelt this burnt smell. it became hot, we sat there and waited, waited, we did not know what was born on.going. smoke to started to comment. some of the passengers started coughing.

>> that the light ever go off? >> yes, just 40 seconds. >> it was not bed smoke but i cannot see. we could smell it. >> what were they telling you? >> they did not tell us much. we sat there, we did not know what was going on. the operator kept walking to each train and checking. they came towards us and we still did not know was born on a. she came to our car as she spoke to someone about the problem from speaker. she stated that--she was checking.

>> did you see anyone heard? >> people started walking from the beginning of the train because the information i would say was incorrect and everything was reversed. people were sick and they were told to move towards to end so that they could be the first ones to get out. then people just started coughing and then, later, they stated for us to go back the other way. >> was it scary? >> to some people yes, but i did not wanted have my daughter to be scared. >> how long were you there? >> if this was the longest time ever. maybe 45 minutes to one hour. i have never been a train this long. >> the lights on one of just
